Incentives for Innovation and Technology Transfer
Innovations are the basis for economic growth and, as a result, the regular identification and evaluation of innovations are amongst the main tasks of economic policy makers. The introduction of new manufacturing processes, products and services or improvements to them are prerequisites for survival in the world market not only for developed economies but also for those in transition, of which Croatia is a good example. The Croatian Chamber of Economy (CCE) is not a direct participant in the process of Croatian National Innovation System development, but represents, mediates and cooperates with all process participants in favour of its members. The Affiliation for Innovations, active within the Industry Department, was established in 1997 with a view to contribute to the creation of an enabling environment for the inventive work of individuals and groups and for the mutual action of the three basic relevant segments: industry, development and research institutions and innovators, and government. The Affiliation is a non-profit organisation comprised of voluntary members. It gathers members from all parts of society and economy – innovators’ associations and individual innovators, members of the Croatian Association of Innovators, legal entities engaging in innovative work, technology centres and parks, development and research institutes, institutions of higher education and institutions engaging in the development and research of new products and technologies. The mission of the CCE’s Affiliation for Innovations is market innovation. The Affiliation’s goal is to enable the marketing of innovative solutions by involving active business entities in the process and by participating in the activities of the Croatian Chamber of Economy.
